Tutorial for DMXControl 3.0

This is the first version of the tutorial for the brand new software DMXControl 3.0.

DMXControl 3.0 provides some new concepts such as "hardware abstraction layer" (HAL) for DMX fixtures, new group and effect concepts and a separation into server and client. Therefore a new tutorial is required too.

On the other hand there are lots of differences in comparision to DMXControl 2.x (see German article http://www.dmxcontrol.de/wiki/Uebergang_von_DMXControl_2_zu_3 ). Shortly summarized, DMXControl 3 supports modern lighting concepts, but there are still some gaps related to DMXControl 2.x, because it takes time to re-implement all popular features of DMXControl 2.x.

This tutorial is split into three parts:

  • Lesson 1 to 7: Basic concepts, setup and configuration
  • Lesson 8 to 14: Programming your cues and show
  • Lesson 15 to 21: Execution of show and add-ons
