Highlight is a function that allows lamps to be turned on without affecting the Programmer.

Overview

Usage

To use Highlight, a device or group must be selected in the Stage View. By clicking on [Highlight], the selected lamp will be turned on. The dimmer is set to 100%, and the shutter is opened if necessary. The difference from the [Lumos] function is that DMXControl 3 does not store the value in the Programmer. This is useful when programming or adjusting movement scenes, colors, or other settings. As a result, the dimmer value is not saved in the Preset or in a Cue.

Additionally, the function can be very useful for checking and focusing devices. As mentioned, Highlight always turns on only the selected device. This eliminates the need to clear the Programmer when another Device or Device Group needs to be turned on. Simply select the next device or group, and it will be activated.

Additional functions of Highlight:

  • Alignment or orientation of the matrix patch
  • Preview of presets

Important Hint If Highlight is enabled and a preset is saved, the preview of the preset is displayed immediately after saving. If the preset does not contain values for the dimmer or shutter, the Stage View will remain dark.

External Control

The Highlight function can also be controlled via the Input Assignment using the following nodes or by retrieving its current status:
